Posted by Shantalanil on 04 Jun 2008 This is a book where non-fiction meets fiction. It is about the autobigraphy of a species in 23 chpters- of the human species, which contains 23 pairs of chromosome. Each chapter discussess the posibly activity of a specific pair of genes-be it longevity, sex, intelligence, survival or other abstract ideas. Genetics is very difficult to nderstand and one can only marvel at the ingenuity of the author who has managed to write such a complex subject in very simple engmlish. Hence it is also a lesson in narrarion and power of expression. A Matt ridley says, he has envisaged the human genes a being an autobiography of their own writing in 'genetish.' A wonderful book from a science journalist.
