Book Review: Cane River
Posted by Sophia Pope on 20 Jun 2008This is an amazingly heart-wrenching and heart-warming book. Its a true story but I love the "storytelling" style its been written in. Every character is potrayed so authentically - they are all so diverse and yet each of them is so strong! It was facinating and eye-opening for me to realize how much importance we give to family and loved ones during hard times; yet we always seem to take them for granted in today's fast paced technology-driven world!
I have to admit, the fact that it was written by an ex-VP of Sun Microsystems and a woman of color made the book that much more appealing to me.
