The name and first few pages

Posted by Hoho on 03 May 2008
Any reader of a book goes either by the name of writer or the title that is love at first sight.Ok in name ,while reading all, many may appear garbage out in the end.So many writers, classic age gone, the attraction lies at first sight.
Here the name is the first attraction for which I paid good money to Penguin. This I write after reading upto simply Chapter 2.I keep it close to my heart as , as and when I get free time I will read. The rhythm of language, the metaphor and ultimately the simplicity of whole meaning derived at the end of every paragraph is simpy attractive. The role of Sai,the judge, and the whole building ,and ultimately some one's statement that he is not working under any Indian but an American.......the cook''s statement, and add how police vanished like "they had not protected them from the robbery...a policeman banished  this irreligious thoughts from his mind ,and they skirted  the area respectfully ,in case the snakes or their offended relatives came after them"

Just I can say ,"it is a book one should read."

Reading the first line will force you to read the next line and so on
