The french lover is your normal run of the mill story with lots of innuendos. The book tracks the story of Nila, The lady from Calcutta who visits france and gets embroiled in the love of a French i.e. The French Lover.
Also one thing that I want to point out is that the story is very sexist, Sometimes over the roof and the reader gets the feeling that they are just to attract the interest of the reader away from the frail and weak storyline.
Final opinion. Not Recommended unless you have nothing to do.
