Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood: Book Review

I had heard of the movie before I knew it was a book and I always wondered about it, again because of the title.
So when I was browsing through this musty but gorgeous second -hand bookstore in London  and  spotted the book, I grabbed it immediately and had no idea what to expect of it.
The book starts a little slow though picks up pace very quickly and you are instantly connecting with the characters.
This book is about four friends who are very closely knit. The characters are crafted so beautifully I was not surprised they made this into a movie.
Also, I cannot quite pin down why I wouldn't recommend this to the guys, since the ladies in this book are not the girly-girls, if you know what I mean.
But girls, I'd recommend this book if you want a relaxed evening. Settle down with some whisky on the rocks, sip away and read.
