Posted by disconnected on 03 Aug 2008 A friend of mine gifted this wonderful book few weeks ago. Around the same time i also happend to lay my hands on a book titled 'Talks of the Maharishee' or something like that. As i started flipping through the 'Talks' book, i was really drawn to the wisdom and the deep insights, expressed so beautifully attributed to Sri Ramana Maharishee. So when i started reading Paul Brunton, there was this sense of excitement one experiences when they are on a travel in search of some unknown. The initial thrill was very similar to the one i experienced whenever i went on mountain treks or jungle treks. Paul really holds your attention through out the book with his lucid and beautiful prose. One actually experiences the journey from Bombay to south of India and to Kolkata and to Varanasi and then back to Bombay fianally ending up at Arunachala. I really expected Paul to decipher, if not, articulate the dialogues between the disciples and the sage in this book, but Paul kep those moments mostly private, instead narrating in his beautiful style the experiences and the emotions his mind was going through. My next stop in my spiritual journey has to be at Arunachala. Thanks Paul and my friend.
